Financing

*Note that Cafa is not an exempt market dealer, nor do we lend money. 

Obtaining financing requires the preparation of a well-defined plan or project and effectively communicating it to selected target lenders. 

We work closely with accredited investors and lenders such as banks, para-public funds, labour funds, private equity funds and family offices.

 

For growth or refinancing:

Occasionally companies outgrow their lender’s capabilities or need to change lenders. Cafa can assist you to evaluate your existing financing structure and recommend and negotiate either existing terms or an entirely new financing package.

When acquiring a business, Cafa can provide the following advice and services:

  • Evaluate your funding needs based on your historical, current and projected business outlook and results.
  • Explain the types of financing best suited to your needs and describe how they will each add value to your company.
  • Explain how the fundraising the process works, what is required, the time it takes, etc.
  • Help you develop the in-depth financial forecast lenders or investors will require to assess your ask and evaluate their potential risks and return.
  • Prepare a Confidential Information Memorandum which describes your company, your business and growth vectors, the market you trade in, your service or product, your business outlook and the sought-after financing structure.
  • Approach multiple lenders or equity investors most likely suited for the type(s) of financing required.
  • Work closely with the prospective lenders or investors to ensure they understand the business and reach realistic risk perceptions.
  • Obtain multiple offers from which Cafa will work with you to evaluate and choose the best one(s). 
  • Provide the necessary support so that the chosen partner(s) successfully obtains investment committee approval on the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Assist your legal and tax advisors in their preparation and review of the  various required agreements to ensure the “spirit of the deal” survives.

 

Project Financing, Cafa will:

  • Evaluate your borrowing capacity and your project from a financing perspective.
  • Explain the types of financing best suited to your project and describe how the process works, what is required, the time it takes, etc.
  • Develop the in-depth financial model lenders will require to both examine the execution of the project as well as subsequent operations.
  • Prepare a Confidential Information Memorandum which describes you, the sponsor, your business, the market you trade in, your service or product, the project, its costs and benefits and the sought-after financing structure.
  • Approach multiple lenders most likely suited for the type(s) of financing required.
  • Work closely with the lenders to ensure they understand the business, the project and ultimately address their risk perceptions.
  • Obtain multiple financing offers from which Cafa will work with you to evaluate and choose the best one(s). 
  • Provide the necessary support so that the chosen lender(s) successfully obtains credit approval on the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Assist your legal and tax advisors in their preparation and review of the credit and other agreements to ensure the “spirit of the deal” survives.
