Marc Lionel Gagnon

Marc is an expert in international business development and corporate finance and represents Cafa for identifying business opportunities on the Iberian Peninsula. He has a proven reputation as a results-oriented promoter bringing Spanish companies and investors to Canada.

Marc began his professional career prospecting for international business opportunities at Tecsult International, a Quebec-based international engineering firm. He moved on to specialize in international markets at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.

He subsequently served Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada as commercial attaché at the Canadian embassy in Spain, where he furthered his knowledge of European commerce. Marc specialized in the agri-food, biotech and engineering sectors and was responsible for numerous projects such as sourcing investment opportunities, financings, consulting on offsets (ITBs) and scientific collaboration.

Over the past 20 years, Marc helped numerous Canadian companies develop business networks in Europe and facilitated Spanish investment projects in Canada.

Marc is a graduate of the Université de Montréal and holds a Masters in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. Marc speaks French, English, Spanish and has good knowledge of Portuguese.
